The video Urban Hi(s)story (2017) points to two kinds of conflicts: first is the relationship between culture and nature; second is the conflict of interpreting history, which is approached from a critical feminist perspective.
Incorporating visual materials gathered from Rio de Janeiro, Athens, and Berlin, three geographically and culturally distinct metropolises with a recurring pattern of how the history is represented, this work highlights the presence of primarily male "national heroes" depicted through busts set in outdoor environments.
These bronze heads in their symbolically significant habitat (parks, gardens, educational institution areas, squares) materialise the clash of culture with nature and both conflicts get more evident.
