EL PATRÓN FALOCÉNTRICO, 2014

Acrylic on canvas

Modular composition of 16 pieces

(40 cm x 40 cm each)

Measures variable

The modular artwork El Patrón Falocéntrico (The phallocentric pattern) represents an analogy to mechanisms of power and authority encoded as a repetitive pattern in our cultures and societies - mostly invisible in its nature, yet omnipresent in our everyday lives.

The pictorical pattern is created by repetitive use of one basic element - a simplified obelisk. This obelisk form has a function of the maximal representation of symbolic phallic power we can find in urban areas across the world.
